Journal of Balkan Architecture

The Journal of Balkan Architecture (JBA) invites submissions on an ongoing basis. JBA is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to advancing research, critical inquiry, and creative practice in architecture and the built environment, with a particular focus on the Balkan region.

The journal provides an academic platform that supports dialogue between theory and practice, fostering exchange between researchers, practitioners, and educators.

Scope of the Journal

The Journal of Balkan Architecture publishes peer-reviewed contributions in the following areas:

Architectural design, composition, and spatial theory
Interior architecture and spatial design
Urban planning, urban design, and landscape architecture
Architectural heritage, conservation, and adaptive reuse
Sustainable architecture, environmental design, and resilience
Building materials, construction technologies, and structural innovation
Digital technologies, computational design, and architectural representation
Architectural education, criticism, and interdisciplinary approaches

Submission Policy

Submissions are accepted on an ongoing basis.
All manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
Manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the journal’s Instructions for Authors and formatted using the official Article Template.
All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process.

Publication Scheduling

Accepted manuscripts are scheduled for publication in the next available regular issue, following the completion of the peer review, revision, and copyediting processes.
Publication order is generally determined by the date of submission, subject to editorial planning and thematic issues.
